Starting at approximately 10:30 am (according to the ferry schedule), this parade winds its way through the heart of Friday Harbor, showcasing a colorful array of floats, marching bands, and local organizations. How to Get the Best Spot

Join the Pig War Picnic by Kiwanis Club of Friday Harbor
After the parade, head over to the San Juan County Fairgrounds from 11:30am to 4:00pm to join the festivities hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Friday Harbor.

The new “Bite of San Juan”, modeled after the Bite of Seattle, is a way to taste a variety of food from local restaurants and food vendors. An expanded menu includes Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Mac and Cheese, Kielbasa, Pizza, Tacos, Quesadillas, Tamales, Corn on the cob, Fish Tacos, Vietnamese noodle bowls, a Cake Walk, Strawberry Shortcake, and Beer Garden.
Live Music and Entertainment
While you indulge in delicious food, enjoy live music from Wheelie Fargo, a popular rock and country music band. It’s not just about the food; it’s about enjoying the local culture and sharing the experience with friends and family.
Fun Activities and Contests
The Pig War Picnic also features a range of activities that are fun for everyone. Participate in three-legged races, gunny sack races, egg tossing, and a watermelon eating contest. These games add a nostalgic touch to the day’s events, making it a memorable experience for both kids and adults.
San Juan Historical Museum Tractor Show
11am – 3pm

The Tractor Show is on the Museum grounds after the July 4th parade, from 11 am until 3 pm. On display, a variety of tractors used in San Juan Island farming; all these beauties arrive at the Museum under their own power, and their owners will be happy to tell you all about them.
There will also be a display of running “Hit and Miss” engines, the one-cylinder machines that ran farm equipment, such as milk separators and hay elevators.
