Lime Kiln Point State Park

Known as the Whale Watch Park, Lime Kiln Point State Park offers visitors a chance to witness the grace of orcas gliding through the sea. The iconic lighthouse perched atop a rocky bluff makes for an incredible backdrop for your Instagram photos. Be sure to capture the breathtaking sunsets that grace the park, painting the sky in a myriad of colors.

Pelindaba Lavender Farm

A symphony of purples awaits at the Pelindaba Lavender Farm. Rows upon rows of fragrant lavender make for a dreamy and visually stunning sight. Snap some shots of yourself strolling through the lavender fields or posing amidst the sweet-smelling blooms – a perfect Instagram-worthy experience.

English Camp National Historical Park

Step back in time at English Camp National Historical Park, where lush meadows, historic buildings, and waterfront views transport you to a different era. The picturesque British camp provides a glimpse into the island’s history and offers excellent photo opportunities. In the Fall, the colors are absolutely stunning.

San Juan Vineyards

Wine enthusiasts and photography lovers alike will revel in the charm of San Juan Vineyards. The picturesque vineyard, surrounded by rolling hills and grapevines, creates a rustic and romantic backdrop for your Instagram shots. Don’t forget to capture some wine-tasting moments with friends!

American Camp

Another remarkable beach location on San Juan Island is American Camp. With its driftwood-strewn shores and striking views of the Olympic Mountains, this spot is perfect for a beach-themed photoshoot or sunset snapshot. Please respect the wildlife and stay at a safe distance.

There is the main Visitors Center which leads across to Redoubt and down to Granny’s Cove and then three other stops: South Beach, Mount Finlayson/Jackle’s Lagoon, and the Cattle Point Lighthouse.

South Beach

Breathe in the fresh ocean air and explore the pristine sandy shores of South Beach. This idyllic beach spot offers panoramic views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the Olympic Mountains. Whether it’s a candid shot while beachcombing or a stunning landscape photo, South Beach is a must-visit spot for any Instagrammer.

Mount Finlayson

For those seeking a more adventurous photo opportunity, a hike up Mount Finlayson is a must. The trek offers breathtaking views of the island and surrounding waters. Once at the summit, snap a triumphant selfie with the panoramic vista as your backdrop.

Cattle Point Lighthouse

Drive further down the road and you will land at Cattle Point Lighthouse. The tip of San Juan Island has beautiful vistas of Lopez Island, the Olympic Peninsula and more. The walk along the beach here is one of our favorites and if you are visiting during the Fall/Winter season, this is an AMAZING spot for storm watching and birdwatching.

San Juan Island Sculpture Park

Art and nature blend seamlessly at the San Juan Islands Sculpture Park. Wander through a garden adorned with sculptures, both abstract and realistic, nestled amidst lush greenery and a picturesque pond. This whimsical, fun and beautiful setting offers numerous creative photo opportunities to click away. Don’t miss the mirror… it is one of our favorites and it can get a little squishy in the Spring. 

The Crow’s Nest at The Web Suites

Perched atop The Web Suites in Friday Harbor, The Crow’s Nest offers a dreamlike view! Step onto the rooftop and prepare to be swept away by a mesmerizing panorama. Sailboats glide across the harbor, making way for the ferry. In the distance,  views of Turtleback Mountain and Mt. Constitution on Orcas add to the allure. From this elevated spot, savor the bustling harbor and quaint streets of Friday Harbor. As the sun sets in a blaze of colors, The Crow’s Nest at The Web Suites presents a 360-degree view forever etched in your heart. It’s truly delightful!
